    The Utilization Review Regi s t er ed Nur s e (RN) is a registered nurse who manages the coordination, utilization, and implementation of professional and supportive services to clients in a safe, effect ive and cost-efficient manner. The Utilization Review RN is responsible for the utilization of services during the episode of health care treatments.


    My commitment will include:

    • Plans, directs, and participates in delivery of professional services to home care clients. Participates in the organization's strategic planning activities. Focuses services toward diagnosis-specific client care needs.
    • Communicates significant findings, problems, & changes in utilization to the physician and other personneli nvolved with patient care.
    • Provides education and training related to utilization of services and regulation and reimbursement changes.
    • Facilitates admission reviews to assure appropriate utilization.
    • Identifies and instructs staff on utilization criteria for clients and evaluates eligibility for initial and ongoing skilled home health benefits.
    • Provides client and families with information about covered services.
    • Keeps fully cognizant of current Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement regulations and changes and ensures compliance.


    • Education: Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
    • Licensure: Current State License as .a Registered Nurse. Must have valid driver's license.
    • Experience: 2-3 years’ experience as a registered nurse in an appropriate clinical care setting or home health environment preferred.
    • Skills: Nursing skills as defined by accepted nursing standards. Requires interpersonal skills and ability to manage patient care episodes.
    • Transportation: Reliable transportation.
