The Recruiter is the first line of our cultural impression to our most important asset – our new employees. The Recruiter assesses if candidates possess the skill, attitude and motivation to join the Great Lakes Caring team.


My commitment will include:

  • All aspects of the candidate generation process including: sourcing candidates, conducting phone interviews and establishing strategies to fill specific positions.
  • Developing and implementing effective recruitment and retention strategies to fill open positions within the designated timeframe.
  • Interviewing applicants and referring qualified candidates to appropriate hiring managers for review.
  • Performing appropriate functions including reference checks, new hire documentation and orientation.
  • Working with directors/supervisors to develop staffing requirements, priorities, recruiting strategies and budget for advertising positions.
  • Reviewing completed application packages and conducting pre-employment screens.
  • Preparing all hiring documentation and working with Human Resources to facilitate processing of offering new positions and ensuring successful completion of hiring process.
  • Ensuring that benefit options are adequately explained to all employees.



  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources or staff recruiting. Health Care experience preferred. Minimum of 2-years of experience in program development and management practice related to human services delivery.
  • Skills: Requires interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff. Working knowledge of Human Resource functions. Able to demonstrate problem-solving skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate, with experience in the operation of office equipment.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation.
