    The Massage Therapist is a qualified professional who has a working knowledge of neuromuscular therapy, anatomy, physiology and range of motion testing.

     

    My commitment will include:

    • Providing massage therapy to terminally ill patients in the home or facility and communicating regularly with the Interdisciplinary Team.
    • Completing necessary documentation and consulting the supervisor or Registered Nurse when appropriate.

    • Incorporating techniques using the knowledge of massage theory, anatomy, physiology, pathology and hydrotherapy.

    • Participating in the implementation of and development of the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care to ensure quality and continuity of care.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Completion of an approved massage therapy school program or apprenticeship program. Preferred membership with ABMP.
    • Licensure: Current Massage Therapist license in state where practicing. Must have valid driver’s license.

    • Experience: Preferred one (1) year experience in an approved massage therapy facility. Home care/hospice experience desirable.

    • Skills: Requires interpersonal skills, supervisory and communication skills. Demonstrate ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients, families and caregivers in varied settings and to function effectively in a nursing facility or patients home. Demonstrate ability to cope with family emotional stress and tolerance of individual lifestyles. Ability to handle multiple priorities, documentation requirements and deadlines.

    • Transportation: Reliable transportation.
