    JOB SUMMARY

    The RN Staff Educator/Preceptor is a registered nurse who works closely in a collaborative relationship with all personnel to help develop and administer basic education, new hire orientation and knowledge for all planning, operations, quality assurance, and the clinical aspects of homecare and hospice.

    Qualifications

    • EDUCATION:  RN of an accredited program. BSN or equivalent preferred.
    • LICENSURE:  Current State License as a Registered Nurse.  Must have a valid Driver’s License.
    • EXPERIENCE:  Minimum 4 years experience as a registered nurse, two-four years of experience in home health and/or hospice or related experience in a specialty area. Experience as preceptor or staff educator a plus.
    • SKILLS:  Nursing skills defined as generally accepted nursing standards.  Requires interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.  Demonstrates proven decision-making ability and is proficient with computer skills.
    • TRANSPORTATION:  Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance coverage.

    Physical Demands

    • Complete required work on a daily basis.
    • Cope with work involving ill, disabled, and dying patients.
    • Sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently.
    • Move equipment and supplies necessary for job functions.
    • Read, speak and write English in order to fulfill job functions in an understandable way.
    • See/hear or use prosthetics that enable accomplishment of job.
    • Meet the health requirements of the agency.
    • May have possible exposure to infectious diseases.
    • Abide by all occupational safety and bloodborne pathogen protocol to minimize illness and/or injury.
    • Move, support and/or transfer patients as required to perform essential functions of position.
